Liya Kebede and daughter Rahee in Cookie Magazine

I've read exactly one issue of Cookie Magazine. I bought it on a whim one day and quickly regretted it because I found the overall tone of it to be a wee bit too pretentious for my taste.

The only article I can recall was about the situation one posh mom encountered when she found that the other mothers in her child's playgroup were too low-class for her taste. The solution? Send your nanny instead! Between that and the ads for $1,200 strollers I felt a little embarrassed to have it on my coffee table and quickly threw it in the recycling bin.

That distaste aside, from the looks of this cover, I might have to don a trench coat and big sunglasses so that I can buy this issue next time I'm at the bookstore. I love Liya Kebede and these beach photographs with her daughter are too sweet to resist.

I didn't know Liya Kebede had a little girl. She's beautiful and definitely worth buying the pretentious mag for. lol! I would totally understand.

Her daughter is beautiful, a young supermodel in training. Look at her posing! I have a picture of Liya in my scrapbook in a bright yellow Donna Karan dress. That dress against her skin is gorgeous. Her husband is handsome, an older investment banker. She has a lovely family.

I love that Liya Kebede is a real mother, I once saw her at the Sony Discovery place with her daughter and otehr children in tow and it was awesome to see someone so enmeshed in the fashion and glamour world being a normal responsible woman instead of going off the deepend like a lot of those other girls. Liya surely has her priorities straight!

I just picked up this Cookie issue and also found it to be quite ridiculous. Did you see the costs of her children's clothing line? Hundreds of dollars for clothes for a toddler? I'm glad Kebede makes clothes for "real" working moms.
