Chanel Iman - POP Magazine 20th Anniversary Issue - Josh Olins
Who says black girls can only model animal pelts? Chanel Iman shows that she can rock an ostrich just as easily as wears the cheetah. My first thoughts when seeing her wee boobies in some of these shots was 'how old is this girl again?' and 'where's her mama?' In case you're curious too, she'll be 19 at the end of the month.

I prefer the Harper's Bazaar pics. These shots just aren't doing it for me.
Is there really a difference between her wearing an animal print associated with Africa and animalistic styling for this shoot? It could also be argued that the "artistic" breast baring is a bold equation with savagery, or at the very least cuts of meat at the supermarket. The prevailing sentiment is that only serious models comply with nudity, though the industry still hasn't figured out how to sell tits with their clothing.

Not really, at least to me. I was being sarcastic with my comments.
Tits, feathers, and all, Chanel looks really nice in this shoot. She's a really good model and it's hard for me to dislike any of her work, even if it does go somewhat against what I stand for. I guess it'll be filed under one of my guilty pleasures. . . . . .
she looks like a 7 year old boy...what is the attraction to this iman girl? someone please tell me. What?
I don't think that there's anything very special about her looks. There are strikingly gorgeous & better looking women in our respective families. They (the magazines & image makers) have chosen to use her as the approved & anointed image. The caps on her teeth are too large for her mouth and it becomes obvious when you see her speak.
People need to leave that girl alone. She's not doing anything but what she loves. And I'm glad there's nothing "special" about her looks. She's showing us that even ordinary looking girls can be something special
The fact that there's nothing special about her looks but she's getting all this attention shows that she's the "token black girl" of the fashion industry. The go-to-black-girl when fashion designers or magazine spreads want to add a splash of color to their creative work. They probably have her agent's name on speed dial. To fend off accusations of racism, they quickly summon for C.Iman.
There are more deserving black models out there like Sessilee lopez, Diouf, Ajuma Nasenyana etc who are actually fierceeeee, exotic looking, versatile and striking.
Chanel Iman looks like my 7 year old cousin so I don't see the attraction. Period.
