I am in full support of Beyonce wearing clothing not designed by her mother. She's been mixing it up lately sporting a few looks by more avant-garde designers like Gareth Pugh. She doesn't always pull it off but it's still fun to watch her try. Here she is in a more accessible Armani Prive top. What do you think?

I like the way Beyonce's outfits always emphasize class, even when she shows off her legs. This top is a good example, because it's quite tame. It's funny that Tina Knowles was mentioned, because the dancers for this performance looked like they were wearing black and white outfits that she created to complement Beyonce's. Regardless, it's weird to discover that a stage costume was actually made by a big designer. They always look like something plain that a stylist altered.
i am also in favor of her not wearing her mother's pageant getups anymore, but this look is kinda hard to judge. i'm too distracted by the look on her face! :\

LOL..I 2nd that..
The top was an ok choice for her performance
I saw B on the Ellen DeGeneres show today. She was wearing a suit (I don't know who from) but it was nice to see her somewhat understated and not all 80's pageantry-like. Granted, it was a daytime talk show but if Tina had a crack at her . . .
I love the vest, but I think it was okay for the performance. What I HATE about Beyonce are those damn white pantyhose! Take em off girl!! lol
That performance at the AMAs saved the show. Everything else was boring, and the entire show paddled along in all its uneventful glory. Beyonce brought the effin house down; every stood up to cheer for her...even old white ladies and men were twitching their hands and telling their partners to put a ring on it (well, maybe just Marriage-vows renewal rings).
^eh. I thought she did mediocre like everyone else honestly. The whole night everyone just seemed like they weren't going to try too hard for the AMA's.
