Thandie in Jasmine Di Milo - Fall 2008

Thandie Newton usually looks head to toe flawless but I'm not feeling this look. What do you think?

It actually looks better on Thandie than on the model...I love it :)

I don't think it's quite right for her. this dress is edgy and angular -- Thandie has this soft doe-ish quality. perhaps if she had styled her hair differently. IDK. meh...

hmm, not so much...The length and shape makes her look torso look disproportionately long and her legs short. At least in this picture

The middle lower half of the dress is weird but she still looks pretty.

I can't believe people have more to say about this than that disgusting Indian Vogue stunt.

While Thandie and the runway model appear to be about the same size, frame-wise, I prefer the way the dress looks on the model. I dunno, maybe it's the contrast of the white dress and dark hose/shoes that appeals to me, I'm not certain. Or it could be that since the model is taller, the dress hangs differently on her, whereas Thandie appears to be swallowed up by the fabric.

Love it on Thandie. She looks curvier. I can't imagine that it'd work on someone with more meat on their bones.

It seems like it sits a little higher on the model and fits her better. Also, I think it suits the model a bit more because it's a kind of weird-edgy dress, and the model has that kind of zombie-ghost-dead quality (in a good way)...whereas Thandie is more romantic looking and the dress doesn't seem like it's her style.
